Who we are

HikeHeaven is a hiking and outdoor blog operated from Belgium. If you need to reach us about anything on this page, use the contact page.

What we collect

We try to collect as little personal data as possible.

  • Email: if you write to the address on our contact page, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to reply. There is no contact form on the site, so nothing is submitted to or stored by this website.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and performance. These logs are kept for a limited period and aren't linked to any account.

What we don't collect

  • We don't run analytics scripts or behavioural tracking.
  • We don't set cookies for advertising or marketing.
  • We don't sell or share your data with third parties.

Third party services

  • Hosting: the site is delivered through a hosting provider that processes your IP address to serve pages.
  • Fonts: web fonts are served from our own domain, not loaded from Google at runtime.
  • Affiliate links: when you click through to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer's privacy policy applies. We only see aggregate commission reports, not individual purchase details.

Cookies

HikeHeaven doesn't currently set cookies. If we add cookies in the future, for example to remember a preference or to enable analytics, this page will be updated and we'll ask for consent where required by law.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can:

  • Ask what data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete that data
  • Object to processing
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Belgium, the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit)
