How to find good cheap products on amazon?
So how do you find cheap products on amazon that don’t suck?
To start, you can simply use the filters: average rating 4/5 or better and sort by price. This will show you the cheapest products with a high rating. However, as I already mentioned, there are tons of false reviews out there. The first thing you can do to filter out a lot of the bad reviews is only look at the verified purchases reviews. See, amazon knows who actually bought that product from amazon and who didn’t. I’m not saying that a non verified review is always bad/false – or that all verified reviews are honest, but all in all this will increase the quality of the reviews.
Additionally, there are tools out there that indicate the trustworthiness of amazon product reviews. The most popular tool is probably fakespot. This is a pretty handy tool, but it’s not a silver bullet. Fakespot can still be fooled. I have also seen a lot of products that get a very bad grade on fakespot, but some of these products are actually pretty solid.
Instead, I prefer to look for product reviews on an authority website. For outdoor gear I like outdoorgearlab.
Also, make sure to try and find multiple honest reviews on separate websites from trustworthy individuals.
Last but not least, when looking at reviews, make sure that you look at reviews from people that actually use the product like you would use it. You might be looking for good hiking shoes that you plan to use on a long distance trails. In this case, you don’t want to be looking at reviews from people who have only used these shoes to walk around the block.
